About Us

NEXTOR II is a Government-Academic-Industry alliance dedicated to the advancement of aviation research and technology. NEXTOR II receives funding from a broad cross-section of FAA programs. Funding is also provided by several NEXTOR II industry partners, from airport operators and other federal government sources, most notably NASA. Overall NEXTOR II oversight and guidance is provided by the Office of System Operations Services housed within the FAA Air Traffic Organization.

Each of the eights NEXTOR II consortium members has a co-director. The University of Maryland is the NEXTOR II prime contractor. It is the principal point of contact with the FAA and provides overall contract oversight.
